Who We Are and What We Stand For

So what would you like to know about us?  We are a family of four: Kenyon the dad, Jody the Mom, and Schyler and Pierson the two sons.  We homeschool using an approach to education called A Thomas Jefferson Education, aka Leadership Education.  For a great overview and to learn more about it visit either of these two sites: www.tjed.org and/or www.tjedonline.com

We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Our Church is a great supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, and so are we!

We also have friends of other religious persuasions and some with none at all.  Jarvis Family Enterprises, as an entity, does not discriminate towards anyone based upon their religious beliefs or lack thereof.  We believe that all of God's children have value and we can all learn from one another.  Keeping this in mind, be aware that some of our materials and resources may be Christian in nature.

We started this business and our blog/reviews site because we wanted to share some of the great items we have come across in our attempt to become better people.  We subscribe to the scriptural admonition that we should first remove the beams from our own eyes before attempting to remove the motes from the eyes of others.  We also agree with Gandhi who said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."  Hence the name of our website: You Lead The Way.  We believe that as parents we should not expect our children to do things we are not willing to do ourselves.  To us that is hypocrisy.  If we want our children to be kind, hard working, or to pursue their education, then we, too, must be kind, hard working and we must also continue to pursue our own education.  We believe that learning is a life-long practice, not just something you do until you are 18 or maybe 22.

As we have attempted to improve ourselves we have run across many different items that we have found to be excellent and we want to share those items with others, either as individuals or as families, who might also benefit from them.  All items we sell or promote are items that our family, or at least one of the members of it, have personally tried out and approve of.  If there are other items that you, too, believe would be of benefit to others trying to improve themselves and their families, please pass them along to us.  We will try to check them out and see if they fit in with our philosophy, and maybe then offer them here as well.
